Travelling by car

The AA’s recommended route from Bognor to Whyteleafe is 61 miles long and takes around an hour and a half. The route takes you up the M23 and a short way along the M25 before entering the southern suburbs of Croydon. In detail, the route is:

1. Join the A24 at Findon;

2. At Buck Barn crossroads, take the A272 towards Cowfold and Haywards Heath;

3. Join the A23 (later M23) and head towards London.

4. Leave the M23 at Junction 8 and join the M25 anti-clockwise (signposted Dartford)

5. Leave the M25 at the next junction (Junction 6) then, at the Godstone Interchange roundabout, take the first exit onto the A22, signposted London, Caterham.

6. Approx. three miles later, at the Wapses Lodge roundabout, take the third exit and continue on the A22, signposted London.

7. Half a mile later, turn left onto Salmon Road and take next right into Church Road. The ground is approx ¼ mile down on your right.

NOTE: PARKING A notice on the Whyteleafe website says that “Due to developments within the ground, on-site parking is now significantly more limited than in the past. There are no parking restrictions along Church Road. However, please have consideration for local residents. In addition there is a large car park at Whyteleafe Railway Station but please do check for charges made by Southern Railway.”

Travelling by Public Transport

There are two railway stations close to the football ground; Whyteleafe and Whyteleafe South. Both are on the same line and both – according to the AA - are 0.4 miles from the ground. Travel up to East Croydon, then take the Caterham service to either station. (NB Whyteleafe is the first of the two stations you come to – and also offers the best chance of getting a cab should you want one.) See example below:
