WALTON CASUALS

Tues 4th Oct, KO 7.45pm

Casuals play at King George’s Field in Tolworth. Their full address is Corinthian Casuals FC, King George’s Field, Hook Rise South, Tolworth, Surrey, KT6 7NA

Travelling by car

The AA’s recommended route from Bognor to Tolworth is 57 miles long and takes an hour and 38 minutes to drive. The route takes you up the A24, and goes via Kingston. To view the route, visit the AA route-planner website (address below).

However, since the ground is situated right by the A3, it seems more sensible to take the following route, which may be slightly quicker.

1. From Bognor, head across country to Petworth.

2. Take the A283 through Northchapel and Chiddingfold, and pick up the A3 (signposted Guildford, London) at Milford.

3. Stay on the A3 until you reach the urban section with the 50mph speed limit. Continue forward, under the Hook roundabout.

4. Move into the left hand lane and bear left onto Hook Rise North for 0.2 mile (approx 350 yards) at the Tolworth junction.

5. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit (as if you were going to rejoin the A3, going back towards Portsmouth) then almost immediately take the slip road on your left onto Hook Rise South. Continue for 0.5 mile.

6. Turn left into Queen Mary Close. Both the ground and the car park are under the railway bridge on your right hand side.

Travelling by Public Transport

The railway station nearest to the ground is Tolworth. To get there, take the London Victoria train and change at Clapham Junction, as in the following example:

Dep Bognor 16.56 Arr Clapham Junction 18.40

Dep Clapham Junction 18.55 Arr Tolworth 19.14

According to the CCFC website, the Corinthian Casuals ground is just 10-15 minutes walk from Tolworth station. “Turn left out of the station and walk up to the roundabout where you should turn left again, past where the Toby Jug pub used to be. Walk alongside the slip road into Hook Rise South. Continue down the road until you reach Queen Mary's Close, where you will see a small sign for the club. Walk under the bridge and the ground is on the right.”

Coming back, the timings are tight; you need to be on the 21.44 from Tolworth to Clapham Junction in order to catch the 22.23 service to Bognor, arriving at 00.15.
