More Work

8.45am 2nd January

Assistant manager Jamie Howell insists Bognor still have plenty of work to do despite winning the Ryman League Monthly Award for the best team performances in December 2009 and climbing off the bottom of the table.

Victory at Kingstonian on Monday made it eight points from the last four games for the Rocks and another win at Horsham today could lift them out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Howell said: “We are not getting carried away but hopefully we have turned a corner. There is still a long way to go but the way we have played in the last four games gives us confidence we can get out of trouble.

“Even when we were not doing well we were not getting thumped so we knew we were not too far off. We have added some experienced players like Richard Hudson and Dan Beck and they have given the whole team a lift.

“It would be good to get out of the relegation zone but we have not really looked at the table to be honest. All that matters is that we are not in the bottom four at the end of the season.”

James Crane is available again after missing the 3-1 win at Kingstonian due to illness but might have to be content with a place on the bench after on-loan Albion defender Grant Hall Grant Hall impressed on his debut, having signed for a month.

Sam Tucknott is still struggling with a hamstring injury but Jason Prior and Mickey Demetriou are both expected to shake off knocks.
